9 Mile Bridge Reopening — MDOT

On Dec. 14, 2009, MDOT marked the official opening of the new 9 Mile Road bridge over I-75 in Hazel Park in the Metro Detroit area, replacing the original bridge destroyed in a tanker explosion and fire caused by a crash in July 2009. Innovative planning and incredible teamwork helped get the new bridge completed in only five months after the disaster.
