Congressman John L. Mica (R-FL) on Sources of New Funding

John L. Mica was first elected to the United States Congress on November 3, 1992, to represent the 7th Congressional District of Florida. Mr. Mica serves as the ranking member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the largest Congressional panel in Congress.

In this View from the Hill segment, the veteran lawmaker gives a candid assessment of the major transportation challenges that lay ahead for America.

This feature, presented in Congressman Mica’s own words, outlines his plan for major improvements and reforms necessary to maintain the country’s transportation infrastructure. “Our system is broken” says Mica, “for collecting funding for our transportation needs and I will do whatever it takes to get a (new highway and transit) bill through congress this year.”
